2024 was a great year in many respects

20th December 2024 by Fiona Mobbs Leave a Comment

No wonder 2024 flew by!

Your Colour & Style

✅So thankful to gain 21 new Your Colour & Style clients
✅Was assessed for my colour analysis approach, and passed
✅Helped 6 current clients with wardrobe/shopping support
✅Managed to get to the Isle of Wight, and catch up with a couple of lovely clients on the island
✅Visited Kettlewell Colour Studio twice (once for personal development and once with a client to purchase new goodies)
Thank you all for trusting my advice/opinion and giving me some lovely feedback.
✅Delivered 52 weekly tips
✅Maintained my monthly newsletter, despite some challenges trying to change provider
✅Attended the Romsey Show as an exhibitor for the first time – interesting experience and very successful
✅Created a database of clients (at last) thanks to Kara Birrell
✅Created a questionnaire to research what dressing and shopping is like in 2024 for the modern female Executive. Still time to input your thoughts before 31.12.2024.
✅Learned about new sustainable brand: This is Unfolded – love my new dress and just ordered two more items.

Your Stylist in a Box

✅Launched YSIAB New brand, product & website (thanks to my team) and
✅had soft launch to a few stylists of that and my other new business MSIAB
Nearly got caught out not registering 2 new Ltd companies with the ICO as I didn’t think about it and didn’t receive their first communication. Hopefully avoided £4,000 fines x 2!
✅Went out of my comfort zone being interviewed live on radio (Voice FM). Thanks Matt Treviss for being so kind.
✅Featured in the Romsey & Wellow Gazette.
✅Submitted UK trademarks for 2 new brands
✅Submitted 3 International trademarks by myself for YSIAB – learned some valuable lessons!

Personal Poet Fiona

✅Only delivered 1 poem this year as it took a back seat for styling work.
✅However, celebrated 10 years of that business!

General

✅Maintained membership of New Forest Business Partnership (NFBP), Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) & Federation of Image Professionals International (FIPI)
✅Joined the Digital Circus Foundations programme, and enjoyed the first Funpreneurs Day Out at Paultons Park. Now in the calendar for 2025.
✅Began to use AI after another great NFBP training course
✅Attended a brilliant FIPI conference in October

Personal development

✅Continued with my FIPI mentor thanks as always, Jenny Webb.
✅Started working with Beverley Poole, Award winning business coach – 2025 is going to be even better
✅Completed a marketing course with Emma Mills
✅Completed a course to create an online course, with Nikie Forster
✔️Bought some business books, but haven’t finished reading them yet

Networking for support & learning

More training about good networking, including honing my pitch (thanks Yvonne Rabson)
Made countless new connections through Ladies Who Latte (Fareham), Winchester Networking and other meetings I attended, including to support Oakhaven Hospice.

Socials/ holidays

But, it wasn’t all work and no play! I had several lovely little breaks: visited Cornwall (twice – did you spot the colourful handbag shop picture in the bottom row above? This is in Falmouth.), I experienced Littlecote House (Warner’s) and my first Potters break.
Attended 4 funerals but sadly no weddings.
Welcomed a new family member (Lucas) in May and still haven’t had a real-life cuddle. I’m a “great auntie”!
Had a new porch built – very pleased with Adam Hurst’s team. Thanks to Laurence & Verity for getting planning sorted etc.
Enjoyed Queens’ Club tennis matches in the summer.

What does 2025 hold?

At least one new online course
40th wedding anniversary celebrations
Working with a local charity
More exciting things – tell you all next December – or maybe you’ll see what I’m up to on social media, or if you receive my newsletter.
What are you proud of or pleased with in your 2024?
