Make Up Guidance
Find the style that suits YOU
Wearing make-up can make a huge difference to your look and confidence. However, like clothes, make-up in the right colours can enhance your look and using the wrong colours can have the opposite effect. I have always used make-up, but before I knew the right colours for me I used to make myself look ill and older by wearing the wrong colours, unwittingly. If you ever see my “before” and “after” photos you’ll see!
So, make-up was where I started to change my look, because I knew everything was wrong in my wardrobe at the time, and I decided the cheapest and quickest way to make changes for the better was to change my make-up. I had an amazing compliment in my first week of using the correct colour make-up for me – from a male that I hardly knew. Now, this was 25 years ago, and I thought men didn’t really notice things like that, never mind remark on them, so that really showed me the power of this “colour stuff”!
In 2013 I had more training to specifically become a professional make-up artist, so I can apply make-up for you for a special occasion (from £40) or teach you how to do your own (£75). I am able to apply false strip eyelashes or individual ones, which cost an extra £5. This seems to be more popular nowadays, for people to wear false eyelashes every day, not just for special occasions or going out.
I had not met any personal stylists before I got married, and unfortunately I chose a white dress where a cream one would have been better. Luckily I had my make-up professionally applied by someone who chose the correct colours for me, so she “saved the day” in my opinion and I was consequently happy with the photos.
Sarah and Tasha took part in one of my make-up classes. We were joined by Sally who is a professional photographer and took some lovely photographs as the session progressed. We started off looking at albums and swatches deciding which looks we wanted to try:
Then we got down to some practical training in applying eye make-up and using false eyelashes, with me giving some initial guidance and then letting Sarah and Tasha develop their own technique:
When you see the difference make-up can make, whether you wear only a little, want a subtle look, or like to get noticed with it, you will want to incorporate make-up into your daily dressing routine. I will help you work it into your regime, no matter how busy you are, so that you can look – and feel – your best every day and get the compliments you deserve.
